Skiing!

Two days of torrential rain in Seattle and Victoria brought an abundance of snow to the mountains. While flooding, mudslides, and interstate closures brought the city to a standstill, the peaks of the Cascades couldn't get enough. The sun was out on my first day skiing this winter, a beautiful, cold, clear day in eastern Washington.

Ken and I went skiing at Mission Ridge. After a few runs down the one and only green (easy) run, I went to the summit to take the only way down from the top, a mix of blues with a short black streak (my first! it was short, but not short enough!).

Yes, I skied that slope! But no, that's not me in the brown coat.

Toward the end of the day I pretty much fell my way down to the base, but I had fun!! My helmet protected my noggin and I was warm enough with all the exercise... so the only thing that really hurt was my pride. I use the excuse of spending the first 30+ years of my life on the coasts of Florida, Hawaii, and California. Not much of an excuse, but hey... it was a beautiful day and such fun to remember snow again!

On Sunday, the temperature in Seattle was a record low 25 degrees and snowing a little for the Seahawks-Cardinals game!

We squished them, 42-21! Stay tuned... next stop, snowboarding Mt. Washington!
