Hash run at Goldstream (and snow!)

Just like the salmon, we intrepid hashers were in Goldstream on the weekend, navigating our way through the trecherous paths of nature to return to the place of our origin - forests, steep, rocky patches, "shiggy" (aka mud), more shiggy, and just a little bit of water. (If you want to see living salmon, scroll down to my previous blog entry on Nov. 11.)
And did I mention SNOW? Yes folks, the first now of the season here at sea level and the biggest dump on the south island since 1993. It has been snowing at my house for about 30 hours, and we are buried in the stuff!!

After the run, myself ("Grateful Head") and the hasher known as "Hotnuts" were forced to pay penance with "down-downs"(chugging beer) while the snow dumped giant flakes. Amazing.
You remember Neil... bet you never thought you'd see him naked. This is the "salmon dance" he does every year. I averted my eyes. This photo is from the hash site, honest.

Let's take this opportunity to point out it was SNOWING. After a lot of mucking around, we finally got to go warm up in Ma Miller's Pub. This is me and my friend Tim, or the hasher known as "Stoolie."

It snowed all day and all night and all day today! This was my house today about 4 pm when I went out for a walk with my snow gear on.

And this is a happy Subie, looking forward to the first snowboarding trip of the season!
